About Lars

Lars Carlberg first delved into Mosel wine following his studies at the University of Texas at Austin in the early 1990s. In 2005, he established the former Mosel Wine Merchant, a portfolio of select Saar and Mosel producers, and worked as a Wine Specialist at Christie’s in New York City from 2000 to 2001.

Lars lives in Trier, Germany, and represents the Weber family of Hofgut Falkenstein under his own “LCS” label since 2011. Following a two-year program, as an apprentice winegrower in 2016–17, he continues to work full-time in the vineyards and cellar at Hofgut Falkenstein.

On his website, Lars writes many of the articles and all the producer profiles. He is also the editor and publisher. In addition, Lars offers German-to-English translation services.
