The Fourth Annual Rieslingfeier

The fourth annual Rieslingfeier, the biggest celebration of German wine and winemakers in the United States, will be held on February 20th in New York City. This year’s celebration will once again feature a variety of opportunities to interact and taste with 16 of the biggest stars of German wine: Jochen Beurer of Weingut Beurer, Caroline Diel of Schlossgut Diel, Johannes Weber of Hofgut Falkenstein, Konstantin Weiser and Alexandra Künstler of Weingut Weiser-Künstler, Gernot Kollmann of Weingut Immich-Batterieberg, Dominik Sona of Weingut Koehler-Ruprecht, Florian Lauer of Weingut Peter Lauer, Johannes Leitz of Weingut Leitz, Egon Müller IV of Weingut Egon Müller, Katharina Prüm of Weingut Joh. Jos. Prüm, Dr. Carl von Schubert of Weingut Maximin Grünhaus, Wilhelm Weil of Weingut Robert Weil, Hansjörg Rebholz of Weingut Rebholz, Ernst Loosen of Weingut Dr. Loosen, Stefan Steinmetz of Weingut Günther Steinmetz, and Christian Witte of Schloss Johannisberg.

The centerpiece is the Gala Dinner, to be held at Reynard, in the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, Saturday, February 20, at 7 pm. As in previous years, the Gala Dinner is likely to be the greatest German wine “BYOB” dinner in the world, and the number of truly great wines provided by both the winemakers and collectors is always staggering.

In addition to the Gala Dinner, this year’s Rieslingfeier will include the inaugural Gränd Tasting, a walk-around tasting event where all the attending Rieslingfeier growers will pour selections from the 2014 vintage, in addition to older vintages brought directly from their cellars. For only $29, you can taste nearly 60 wines from 14 of the greatest estates making wine in Germany today. The Gränd Tasting will offer a terrific opportunity to meet and taste with each of Germany’s finest growers, but for those seeking an even more intimate opportunity to interact with each grower, a limited number of tickets will be available for the Gränd Tasting VIP Hour.
